This craftsman distinguished himself in the manufacture of luxury seats with works of noble character and very brilliant execution. The Mobilier national preserves from him a large shepherdess, from the time of Louis XVI, offering scrolled armrest consoles, of an unusual model. Other specimens of his work were part of the collection of the Vicomte de Froissard-Brossia dispersed in 1919, and of the former furnishings of Madame la Duchesse d’Avaray at the Château de Mareil-le-Guyon. One of his most admirable creations is an alcove sofa, richly carved and gilded, which obtained a bid of 56,500 francs at the Jacques Doucet sale in May 1912, and which has since appeared in the A. Sussmann collection.
